Keynote Speaker: David Nelson, PhD, OTR, FAOTA

Dr. David Nelson is a professor of Occupational Therapy at the University of Toledo Health Science Center. He has been an occupational therapist for 34 years, and his initial clinical work was with children with pervasive developmental disorders. As an outgrowth of his research, he proposed the Conceptual Framework for Therapeutic Occupation, a series of definitions for occupation and therapeutic occupation. Research interests include prevention of falls in older persons and other community-based interventions for older persons.
