Ann is an Assistant Professor. She has over 19 years experience as an occupational therapist, working in the mental health and addictions field. Ann has developed and supervised mental health programming in inpatient, outpatient, case management, and Clubhouse settings. Her professional interests include homelessness prevention and Psychodrama; she is certified as an Action Methods Director through the Michigan Psychodrama Association. She is currently involved in a two-year research project studying the efficacy of occupational therapy consultation services for homeless individuals who are diagnosed with mental illness. Ann is a member of AOTA and IOTA and has published her work nationally and locally. She has presented extensively on topics related to mental health practice and is the author of a therapeutic card game: Helping Hands. She presented the results of her research with individuals dually diagnosed with mental illness and traumatic brain injury at the April 2006 AOTA conference. Her work in community mental health practice was featured in the June 2006 edition of News-Line for Occupational Therapists and COTAs. |
