Lucinda Dale is a professor. Lucinda has been an occupational therapist since 1982, joining the School of Occupational Therapy in 1995. She is a certified hand therapist with past clinical work experience in areas of orthopedics, neurological disorders, acute care, splinting, ergonomics, return to work, arthritis, and hand therapy.
Dr. Dale teaches in all three programs in the School of Occupational Therapy. Entry-level teaching in the MOT program includes content related to biomechanics, splinting, work, wellness, and research. She teaches elective courses dealing with clinical application of hand/wrist anatomy, and physical agent modalities in the MHS program. She also teaches in the DHS program, providing advising for juried projects.
Lucinda continues to work clinically for Hendricks Regional Health in Danville, IN. She has advised student research groups in partnership with Hendricks to conduct outcomes studies. Lucinda has established additional partnerships in the work and orthopedic communities for teaching and research.
She has an established presentation and publication record in the areas of work, cumulative trauma, and hand therapy. She is the co-author of the Guide to Occupational Therapy Practice, 2nd edition.
Lucinda is an active member of AOTA, IOTA, and the local INHand Study Group. Her research has been presented locally, and at the state and national levels.
