Dr. DeCleene is an Assistant Professor and Director of Occupational Therapy. Her clinical experience has been in pediatrics where she holds a certification in Sensory Integration through WPS/USC. Her professional interests include: sound therapy programs, technology based patient education, fieldwork education, interdisciplinary education, and professional behaviors in students. Kate recently assisted in a research project for the American Occupational Therapy Commission on Education titled, Education for specialized services for people with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) in entry level occupational therapy curricula in the United States (2007). She was also an examiner in the standardization study for the recently released Developmental Profile 3rd Edition. Her professional memberships include the American Occupational Therapy Association, Indiana Occupational Therapy Association, Doctor of Occupational Therapy Network, and World Federation of Occupational Therapists. Prior to joining University of Indianapolis, Kate was the Director of Occupational Therapy and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator at Idaho State University. |
