Fengyi Kuo is an assistant
professor, and she directs research for the Master of OT
program. She teaches Research Methodology, Research
Applications and Issues in Pediatrics. She also teaches a
postprofessional course on intermediate sensory integration.
Fengyi's clinical experiences include mental health,
pediatrics, geriatrics, and home health.
Dr. Kuo
holds a sensory integration certification through Western
Psychological Services (WPS) and University of Southern
California (USC) and is a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation
Practitioner (CPRP) through the US Psychiatric Rehabilitation
Association (USPRA). She has numerous presentations related to
dementia care and community mental health at local, national
and international levels. Fengyi has received grants from the
National Alzheimer's Association and the Center for Healthy
Communities to support her work in dementia care and community
mental health. In summer 2007, she served as a grant reviewer
for the Administration of Children and Families (ACF) at the
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Her
publications include Dementia caregiver role changes, meeting
the needs of caregivers and evidence-based practice in
psychiatric rehabilitation.
Fengyi's professional
interests include mental health, community practice, and
cultural competency. She is a member of WFOT, AOTA, IOTA,
USPRA, and American Evaluation Association (AEA). In 2008, Dr.
Kuo was honored as one of seven faculty members to receive a
Faculty Achievement Award at the University of
Indianapolis.
