Hancock Memorial Hospital and Health Services
Location:
Hancock Memorial Hospital and Health Services is located at 801 St. Greenfield,
IN 46140. Approximately 15 miles East of Indianapolis.
Type of Facility:
- Hospital has approximately 120 beds.
- Three full time OTR's (2 - U of I graduates)
- One part time COTA
- 3 part time OTR's (1 - U of I graduate)
- Client diagnoses vary from pulmonary, CVA, orthopedic, pediatrics,
other general medical diagnoses, psychiatric diagnoses
OT Programs and Services:
- Industrial programs- do on-site visits and ergonomics
- Geriatric psyche program- teach coping skills, living skills, stress
management, anger management, behavior modification
- Subacute unit- geriatric population primarily total joints, CVA, etc.
- Outpatient- neurological and orthopedic
- Home health care
- Inpatients
- Offer continuum of care from inpatient to outpatient
Innovative and Creative Intervention:
- Developing program of forced- use with stroke patients
- Working on women's health programs
- Work reintegration
- Work hardening
- Keep the holistic view of patient, work well with other disciplines, and
use variety of treatment theories
