The Master of Occupational Therapy is designed for students that have earned a minimum of 94 college credit hours in any major area. UIndy students can follow the 4-1.5 option, using the first year of graduate school to also complete their undergraduate degree. Or students can complete their bachelor's degree before entry into the graduate program. A prospective student applies for the graduate program one year before they intend to enter. We are also offering the Direct Freshman Guarantee Admission Option to incoming undergraduate University of Indianapolis freshmen to guide them through their undergraduate degrees, and guarantee them admission to occupational therapy graduate school if they successfully complete the requirements.
Admission Options and Requirements
Prospective students wanting to begin the professional phase of their education and who are seeking admission to the School of Occupational Therapy can follow one of three options:
Completed Bachelor's Degree Option

Complete all prerequisite coursework by enrollment.
Submit a completed application.
Participate in an interview.
4-1.5 Option
Be enrolled in the University of Indianapolis undergraduate programs.
Declare a major with a concentration in Pre-OT.

Direct Freshman Guaranteed Admission Option
High school students seeking direct-admit status in the 4-1.5 option need not apply separately to the School of Occupational Therapy. Simply indicate your intent as a psychology or biology major with pre-OT intent on the undergraduate University application.
If seeking direct-admit status, but not interested in the 4-1.5 option, select your chosen undergraduate major with pre-OT intent on the undergraduate University application.

Transfer Students
Course credit from other occupational therapy programs is not transferable to the UIndy MOT program. This is due to the unique nature in which individual occupational therapy programs design their curriculum. It is the UIndy MOT curriculum as a whole that we believe adequately prepares our students for the NBCOT examination and clinical practice; therefore, outside credits will not transfer into the MOT program.
Notice of Nondiscriminatory Policies
The University of Indianapolis admits students of any race, sex, sexual identity, color, and national and ethnic origin, and does not discriminate on any such basis in the administration of educational policies, athletics, or scholarship and loan programs. The university is committed to the spirit and letter of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act and strives to provide equal access in all phases of university life and activity.
Admission
After the application deadline, top applicants will be invited to an admission interview day. An interview is required to be considered for admission. After interview day, applicants will be notified of the admission decision. Some individuals may be placed on a wait list for admission. The University reserves the right to verify information for the application file via available media. The University also reserves the right to revoke an offer of admission if any information provided is found to be inaccurate or falsified.
